Editorial work

I fell in love with editorial illustration a long time ago, and frequently spend afternoons wandering around magazine shops like Mag Culture. A great way to spend a free afternoon. lllustration as a method of communication has been around since humans first painted cave walls. Ultimately, it’s another tool we use to tell stories, helping us communicate clearly. Editorial illustration is possibly the best example of how we still use images to help convey complex information, and make it more engaging in the process. I hope you enjoy seeing these examples of my editorial work!

A favourite theme of mine is travel (in case you hadn’t noticed already…). Condensing all of the details of a new place into one image is a fun challenge that really forces you to pay attention.

And other times, the task is to create a huge DOUBLE PAGE spread. Part of what I enjoy most about editorial work is finding ways to fit all the images and the text into a pleasing composition. It’s a bit like doing a puzzle.
